Hi my name is Mark Thomas. I am an experienced electrician based in Horley. I carry out varied work in the Surrey area, frequently down into mid Sussex, plus Horsham and East Grinstead directions. With over 25 years in the trade, full scope approval for all electrical services in addition to Part P sign off, and latest 18th edition regulations qualification I am able to undertake most electrical work that is in the realm of being handled by one man. Although I can on occasion call for assistance if warranted.

Jobs cover a wide spectrum, from extra points and lighting, maybe a kitchen or bathroom refit. Through wiring a new extension, fitting replacement consumer units, to new build house dwellings including small developments or block of flats. Equally I might be undertaking a job for a small commercial business such as connecting a new machine or perhaps putting power out to a stable block or detached workshop. 

I carry out testing, fault finding and repairs. Inspections and reports. I also do call outs if I can accommodate them with commitments elsewhere. Notably these include saving everyone's sunday dinner at a large crowded pub by getting the kitchen power going, which earned me a round of applause but only one free beer! There has also been replacing a consumer unit that caught fire or saving an extended family's boxing day when their entire house tripped out. Most faults of course are less dramatic.

Although it is rare now to come across the old rubber cable, old fuse boxes are still common. Modern units incorporate much better protection to wiring and against potential shock hazard. They are also generally metal to reduce fire risk. It is true that the installations I am working on, may have wiring that is thirty or forty years old. It could be adding to, modifying and updating, or completely replacing with new. I believe in the old fashioned craftsman touch. We cant tell exactly how technology will evolve, but I like to think my work also is capable of lasting forty plus years.
